The X Factor: Tulisa in the Firing Line

It seems Tulisa has been the topic of quite a few tabloid stories this week,
most of which appear to be utter rubbish. I know journalist's get paid to do their job and they have to try and write stories that are going to sell but still, surely they should believe in what they write? Ooops, silly me, of course they don't!

This week while in the canteen at work I read on the front of a well known newspaper, "X FACTOR TULISA DUMPS TOFFS" so, being an X Factor fan I thought I would give it a read, the article went on to accuse Tulisa of 'apparently' not liking a certain boy band because of their upbringing, and wealthy background, according to the paper Tulisa could not relate to them so decided to send them home. Firstly I would like to thank that paper for ruining the upcoming episode for me - although I suppose it was my choice to read it, curiosity is a bitch though! Secondly I would like to point out that despite the eye catching headline and the story summary, the whole thing is based on opinions from people in the band and "other sources" so in other words the Lads were annoyed they got axed and decided to sell their story of how they were discriminated against - this may also be rubbish and it might just be a typical case of Chinese whispers!

My opinion, for what it's worth, this is Tulisa's first year on the show, do you seriously think she would send home an act based on anything other than talent, from what I've seen of the show she is very competitive, and the groups she had to pick from were all quite good. I may offend a few people saying this, but the group in question didn't do anything for me, I was surprised they made it through to judges houses, so for me if the story is true they won't be missed!

Second headline for newly appointed The X Factor judge relates to Sunday night's celebration for fellow N-Dubz bandmate Dappy reaching number one with No regrets (bloody good song if you ask me) Shock Horror, on the way to the party Tulisa and Fazer were snapped in a car together, then on the way in posed for a photo, looking all cute together. Now without sounding naive, they were in a band together so really the fact they were at Dappy's party together shouldn't really be that much of a big deal, but the rumours have been running for a while now that Tulisa and Fazer are more than just friends, blooming heck, what has the world come to?? Boy meets Girl, spends years working and socialising with each other, fall in love, now that's just SHOCKING behaviour!

Unfortunately, the paper's couldn't just write a nice story about the pair, it had to be all about the rolled up cigarette and the bad image Fazer apparently brings to Tulisa, oh come on! Are people really that shallow minded, given the hype around the party, and the amount of attention Tulisa alone is getting from the media at the minute, do you really think she or Fazer would be stupid enough to head out doors with a 'spliff' in hand!
Next I'll be reading that Cheryl Cole was posing for a photo in a car she just stole! (this is completely made up, an example of some of the exaggerated garbage we read in the media)
It would be a refreshing change to read a positive story about how good of a job she's doing on the X Factor or how she is a good role model to youngsters. Pfft! Rant over!
